May's Wines-of-the-Month
3,000 BC Chenin Blanc - So. Africa
Our White Wine selection for May
There is evidence that vines were domesticated in about 3000 BC in the Near East, Sumer and Egypt. And of course, many of mankind's great leaps forward in terms of civilization and cuisine occurred at the same time as important discoveries were made in winemaking. Continuing this tradition, '3000 BC' brings you a fine, exceptionally civilized wine that is modern, yet honors the ancient art that created it. A New World of wines for New World Individuals. A zesty refreshing wine with great balance. Guava, pineapple, quince and apple aromas complement the lively, fresh yet complex palate that finishes with a lingering sensation of tropical fruit and wild honey.

Monte Antico Red - W.S. 'Top 100"
Our Red Wine Selection for May
This is a 'Super Tuscan' from - obviously - Tuscany, Italy. It is 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The best selections are blended and aged 1 year in oak (80% in Slavonian barrels, 20% in barrique) plus at least 6 months in the bottle, thereby achieving a graceful balance of voluptuous berry tones and flexible yet sturdy backbone. Dark ruby in color, its bouquet of leather, earth, herbs, black cherries, licorice and plums is confirmed on the medium to full-bodied palate - round, spicy, elegant and attractively fruity.
